Congratulations FFCHS JROTC program
In 2015, the National Rifle Association hosted a Nationwide match for JROTC programs, high school programs and shooting clubs. Our school hosted the Colorado sectional of this match for both 3 position and 40 shot standing and submitted our match scores to the NRA before school was out. The match continued until June and scores were tallied and winners were identified from all over the nation over the summer.
Our shooting program was identified as being the NRA National Champions in the Sporter Class Standing Position Category for JROTC and high school programs with a score of 1337 out of 1600.. All of our cadet athletes competed in the match, however the following members were on the National Championship Team; current students Anthony Gomez , Brianna Mitta and last year graduates Isaac Velez and Shane Trawick. Each athlete received a Gold Medal and a Plaque. Our school was given a plaque as well which we will post in the trophy case.
Our Second Team took 4th in the Sporter Class Standing Position with a score of 1185 out of 1600. This team was, current students Aireonna Gonzales, Antonio Meagan, former student Paige Ledbetter and last year graduate Donovan Peyton.
Our school had 5 athletes in the top 15 positions out of 120 competitors Nationwide. In the JROTC/School programs we were in the top 12 in the Nation.
